The building:

  • Stage: easy-to-erect raised stage (maximum area 8 m2 – there are eight inter-locking 1m2squares of stage available, plus one set of steps)
  • Projection screen (pull-down screen available for use at end of hall; users will need to bring their own projector) see photo below
  • Lighting:  fluorescent tube lighting;  plus adjustable small spotlights to face side and/or end wall
  • Additional rooms:
    • store room (can serve as dressing room for performers)
    • newly fitted kitchen (see details below)
    • toilet facilities (1 male, 1 female, 1 disabled)
  • Heating: Radiators (electric) – coin operated
  • Wifi available

  • NOTE: anyone hiring the hall and wishing to sell alcohol there will need to submit a Temporary Entertainment Notice*, and must seek permission from the hall committee before making any such application to Cornwall Council, as only a limited number of TENs can be issued for these premises each year.

Basic charges:

Four-hour session (morning, afternoon or evening):

  • £10 for regular users*
  • £14 for casual users
  • £33 for trade and political users

Day (morning + afternoon):

  • £19 for regular users*
  • £24 for casual users
  • £54 for trade and political users

Full day (morning + afternoon + evening):

  • £27 for regular users*
  • £35 for casual users
  • £80 for trade and political users
  • £160 hall hire for elections


  • A weekend rate is available by negotiation

Supplementary charges:

  • £5 per session for use of dishwasher
  • £20 per session for full use of kitchen, or £10 for regular users* (as above, but also includes all cookers)
  • Heating is enabled through a coin-meter as required (one new £1 coin gives 30 minutes of  heating power;  £2 coin gives an hour)


In addition to the above charges, a deposit will usually be required.  This deposit will be returned once it has been ascertained that no damage has been done, and that the hall has been left clean and tidy.  In the event a booking is cancelled at least 72 hours (i.e. three full days) prior to the booked start-time, any advance payments and deposits will be refunded.

* A regular user is one that uses the Hall at least once per quarter
