Some of our members at network meeting, September 2016, East Taphouse

Welcome to the South East Cornwall Community Halls Network

Are you managing a village hall or a community hall?  Wanting to bounce ideas with others about issues you are facing?  Policies?  Pricing? Insurance? Legal issues? Licences for playing music or selling alcohol? Are you struggling to raise funds to keep your hall going? ….

Got a question you want to raise with others?  Come to one of our meetings, or join our facebook group.

It’s free to join.

The Network is an independent, constituted self-help association of community halls in South East Cornwall and further afield.  It has been in existence since January 2005 and being a member has many benefits including access to information and training opportunities.  General Network meetings used to be held two or three times a year at which issues such as legislation and funding are discussed.  The Network is recognised and supported by Cornwall Council, Cornwall Rural Community Council, East Cornwall Council for Voluntary Service and other organisations.

Following Covid and the improvements in online access to resources, the need for SECCHN coordination seems to have lessened, and the network has become less active.  It could yet be revived –  any volunteers to breathe life back into SECCHN?

Meanwhile,  this website will continue to be maintained –  pls contact us to update or correct any information.

Join the Network

If your hall committee would like to join the Network please get in touch.  All community halls of all descriptions are eligible to apply for membership.  Membership used to be £10 per year, but due to the availability of unused funds, it has been agreed that membership is now FREE of charge and this has been the case since 2018-19  – and will likely remain so until decided otherwise.     See benefits of membership and how to join.

Why not join now?
